Secondary Fermentors
We do not recommend plastic as secondary
fermentors for winemaking since the wine will oxidize. Use glass
instead. It is ideal: it is easy to clean, doesn’t breathe
and oxidize the wine, and is transparent for determining clarity.
The only precautions to take are to not expose the wine in the carboy
to direct sunlight, and to carefully handle your glass fermentor.
