About the Wine & Hop Shop

We have been in business since the mid-seventies serving winemakers and beermakers. When we first started it was mainly winemakers who graced our shop. Since there were no grapes being grown for winemakers in our part of Wisconsin we decided to plant our own small vineyard to supply local winemakers. Since that time our shop and vineyard have grown considerably. We now have over 6 acres of pick-your-own grapes under cultivation in 10 different varieties.

There were few beermakers in the US in the 70’s. When we opened we stocked Blue Ribbon and John Bull malt extracts. Kent Goldings and Northern brewer hops had to be ordered from Great Britain in order to get them in reasonably fresh condition. Liquid beer yeasts were unheard of.

It’s a different story today. We have a store fully devoted to the crafts of beermaking and winemaking. We stock all the basics and a whole lot more. We enthusiastically carry as many wine and beermaking ingredients and supplies as we can keep fresh and are always interested in trying the newest and best.
